Project Details

Studio Meng Strazzara (SMS) prepared a conceptual design and material palette for a proposal for this 1045 SF specialty retail store at the Concourse C Expansion to the Port Of Seattle. After winning the award, SMS was hired as the architect for this project.

Seattle Macaron Co. draws inspiration both from its product and the cultural heritage of the Pacific Northwest. This ensures travelers feel a connection to PNW while enjoying the sweet offerings.

The green shades in the color palette are inspired by Seattle’s nickname “The Emerald City”, while the molding on the panels pays homage to the Parisian origin of the macarons. An underlit, white stone counter and display area with hints of bronze finish around the store gives it the chic look for a specialty store. A majestic, inverted macaron tower chandelier provides a fun and unique Instagrammable moment for the customers of Seattle Macaron Co.

SMS diligently worked with the Port of Seattle to deliver a space that aligns with the owner’s vision, and the store opened on time in June 2026.
