Project Details
The decision to build a new middle school came after many years of repairing aging educational facilities. The Clover Park School District conducted a facility condition assessment with the guidance of SMS and Meng Analysis which considered options and recommendations considering the scope of the entire school district.
The City of Lakewood, after recent industrial growth, changed the current Woodbrook Middle School into industrial zoning which necessitated a move from the current location. The school district decided to combine Woodbrook and the existing Mann Middle School, into a new facility on the existing Mann site. Our team conducted a series of workshops to learn from each group of students, community members, and faculty what contributed to making their school a unique community. The team drew from knowledge of both school communities, working to create one cohesive new school. Dr. Claudia Thomas Middle School was completed in fall 2020.
